Saskatchewan Disease Control Laboratory

Safe drinking water is important to all Saskatchewan residents.

The Environmental Services section at the Saskatchewan Disease Control Laboratory has been testing water quality in the province for over 90 years. Using a variety of state-of-the-art equipment, drinking water, surface water, groundwater and sewage water is tested.

  • Semi-public water supplies as regulated by Saskatchewan Ministry of Health and Regional Health Authorities, e.g. drinking water supplies in schools, restaurants

General Information

Routine service: Established turn-around time applies to all routine samples. Results for routine bacteriological testing should be available one day after the sample is received. Chemical and physical testing results are usually available in 2 weeks. The results will be mailed to you.

Special situation: When submitting emergency samples, please contact the lab in advance to make a special arrangement.

Confidentiality

Every effort is made to ensure your information and data remain confidential. No personal information will be released to others without your consent. However, the lab retains the right to release personal information and test results to your health region in order that appropriate actions are taken when test results indicate that to consume this water may harm your health.
