Telehealth Saskatchewan Services

General Services

Telehealth Saskatchewan currently provides two main services: health education and clinical services.

If you are considering booking a Telehealth session to:

  • Make a health care provider referral;
  • Participate in a Telehealth health education session;
  • Do your own health education presentation using Telehealth;

Clinical Services

Telehealth has been found to be particularly effective for follow-up appointments, triage decisions, pre-admission work-ups and initial consultations in some specialties. A variety of specialties have used Telehealth Saskatchewan to consult with patients including:

  • Child Psychiatry
  • Chronic Renal Insufficiency
  • Nephrology
  • Pediatric Surgery
  • Internal Medicine
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Pediatric Rheumatology
  • Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Stoma Therapy
  • Developmental Pediatrics
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Memory Clinic
  • General Surgery
  • Diabetes Counseling
  • Nutrition Counseling
  • Tele-Ultrasound
  • Tele-Radiology
  • Cardiac Risk Factor Reduction

Please note: These applications may or may not be available in all regional health authorities. If you require a consultation with a specialty that is not listed, please contact your Regional Telehealth Coordinator or the Program Manager for Telehealth Saskatchewan to determine availability. If you wish to see a health care provider using Telehealth instead of traveling you may talk to your family physician. Health Education Services

Telehealth Saskatchewan is used for a wide variety of health education sessions by physicians and other health care providers, patients, families and communities.

Equipment used at Telehealth sites includes cameras, monitors, and communication lines that allow connection with multiple other Telehealth sites at the same time.

Every site has a big screen TV, which is used to view presentations (slides or PowerPoint). Receiving sites use the TV for viewing presentations.

PowerPoint presentations, slides and short video clips can all be transmitted to other sites.

Public Health Education Services

Telehealth Saskatchewan offers various health education opportunities for the public. Call the Telehealth Coordinator in your regional health authority for more information.

Administrative Services

Telehealth Saskatchewan offers various administrative services to members of regional health authorities in the province. These include health care administration meetings to reduce travel and to increase participation in provincial meetings.
