Did you know? Bursaries and grants are available for health workers and professionals who will commit to work in Saskatchewan's publicly-funded health system. About Telehealth History of Telehealth SaskatchewanHistory of Telehealth SaskatchewanTelehealth Saskatchewan began as a Saskatchewan Health pilot project in July 1999 to help address the need for improved health care services and enhanced practice support in rural and remote areas of our province. During the pilot, eight participating northern sites in six health districts confirmed that Telehealth could successfully provide health care and education to patients, communities and health care providers. Since then, Telehealth has continued to expand and develop. Investments in technological upgrades have been made, and new communities and Telehealth sites have been added to the network. Telehealth Saskatchewan receives funding primarily from Saskatchewan Health and participating Regional Health Authorities. Additional funding has been provided by the Health Infrastructure Support Program (HISP), Health Canada, and the Canadian Health Infrastructure Partnerships Program (CHIPP). |
