Saskatchewan Health congratulates members of the Telehealth Coordinator Working Group, winners of a 2007 Saskatchewan Healthcare Excellence Award.

In a dynamic, ever-changing work environment, these health professionals excel in providing patients across the province with immediate access to specialists and other health care providers through videoconferencing.

The dedication and commitment of Telehealth Coordinators has resulted in improved access to health services for hundreds of patients. Patient surveys indicate that between 95 and 100 per cent are very satisfied with the service. One hundred per cent of patients surveyed say they would return for another Telehealth appointment and recommend the service to others.

The Telehealth Coordinator Working Group is a collaborative team of regional employees working within a provincial program model. Each Telehealth Coordinator is an employee of an RHA that supports both regional and provincial Telehealth initiatives. Currently, there is at least one Coordinator in each RHA.

Congratulations to all involved with the Telehealth Coordinator Working Group! Their commitment to excellence ensures timely access to specialized health services for people across Saskatchewan.
