Data from the surgical registry shows that about 85% of surgeries in Saskatchewan are completed within six months, and 94% within one year.

Saskatchewan is committed to improving access to surgical and diagnostic procedures.

The province's 2010-11 budget invests funding in more surgeries, more diagnostic imaging scans and improved cardiac care.  It provides $10.5 million for the Saskatchewan Surgical Initiative, to transform the surgical experience for residents and ensure that in four years, no one waits more than three months for their surgery.
