Sun Country Board Member BiographiesEarl Kickley, ChairpersonEarl Kickley of Lampman has been a member and is the Chairperson of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority since its inception August 1, 2002. Mr. Kickley is the Chairman of the Executive Committee and is an ex officio member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Earl Kickley was born and raised in the Fort Qu'Appelle area on a farm and attended High School in Fort Qu'Appelle. He started working for Sask Power in 1956 as a Journeyman Electrical lineman and then was the District Operator in Lampman when he retired in 1993. Mr. Kickley served on the Lampman Union Hospital Board for three years as Board Chair, was Councilor and Mayor of Lampman for about 27 years, and chairman of the Recreation Board for ten years. He played senior hockey till he was 40 years old and coached senior and minor hockey for many years. Mr. Kickley was appointed to the former South East Health District when it was formed in 1993, and served as Chairman for three years. He was also a member of the SAHO Board for six years and is currently the Saskatchewan Director on the Canadian Owner and Pilots Association Board, an organization that is dedicated to preserving the freedom to fly in Canada. Sharon Bauche, Vice-ChairpersonSharon Bauche is a former nurse and retired farmer who lives in the Antler area. Sharon Bauche is a member and Vice Chairperson of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority, Board of Directors since its inception on August 1, 2002. Ms. Bauche is a member of the Executive Committee and a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Ms. Bauche represents Sun Country Regional Health Authority on the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations, Board of Directors and is the representative for the Sun Country Regional Health Authority, Board of Directors on the Saskatchewan Governance Committee. She also served as a board member on the former Moose Mountain Health District Board from 1993 till the District amalgamated with the Southeast Health District and the South Central Health District to form the Sun Country Regional Health Authority. Alan J. ArthurAlan J. Arthur of Redvers has been a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority, Board of Directors since its inception, August 1, 2002. Mr. Arthur serves as Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee, of the Board of Directors. Mr. Arthur is a self-employed farmer for over 30 years located southwest of Redvers. He has more than 20 years experience in local government serving as Councilor and Reeve of the R.M. Reciprocity No. 32. Mr. Arthur was a member and chairperson of the former Redvers Union Hospital and Ambulance Board, Redvers Centennial Haven Board and the Moose Mountain District Health Board before the district amalgamated with South East Health District and South Central Health District to form the Sun Country Regional Health Authority. Mr. Arthur's focus is on locally delivered, high quality health services that are accessible to everyone in southeast Saskatchewan. Rita DashRita Dash of Kipling has been a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority since 2002. Ms. Dash is a member of the Executive Committee and Finance and Audit Committee of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority, Board of Directors, as well as a member of the Health Promotion and Primary Health Care Committee for the Sun Country Regional Health Authority. Ms. Dash lives and works on a farm near Kipling with her husband and two sons. She studied nursing at Saskatoon and began working at Kipling in 1974. In 1995, she was elected to the former Moose Mountain Health District where she served on the Finance Committee, Needs Assessment Committee and the Saskatchewan Environment Committee as a community representative. Her priority is innovation, looking to the future and exploring new and innovative ways to deliver health care. Marguerite GallawayMarguerite Gallaway of Estevan has been a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority since its inception on August 1, 2002. Mrs. Gallaway is a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Sun Country Regional Regional Health Authority, Board of Directors. Mrs. Gallaway has had extensive board experience, having served on the Saskatchewan Council of Cultural Organizations as well as the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts, the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the SIAST Board. She has also served on the national and provincial boards of UNICEF, the MLA committee of remuneration review and the SIAST committee of review. She is a member of the Order of Canada and the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. Mrs. Gallaway was executive director of the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Council for 13 years. Her priority for the Sun Country Regional Health Authority is to promote wellness and to provide the best health care services possible to the residents of the Region. Dave KerrDave Kerr of Weyburn has been a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority, Board of Directors since June 2003. He is a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and the Ethics Committee for the Sun Country Regional Health Authority. He is currently retired and in the past worked at the Weyburn Union Hospital as the Business Manager responsible for Finance, Payroll, Front Office and later he took over Human Resources and acted as relief administrator. Mr. Kerr's community involvement included being a member of various boards such as the Weyburn Public and Comprehensive School Boards, the Weyburn Public Library Board, and two committees for the City of Weyburn. He has also served as Vice-Chair of the former South Central Health District Board and as a crossover board member of the Radville Marian Health Center. Maurice KoszmanMaurice Koszman of Bengough has been a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority since its inception on August 1, 2002. Mr. Koszman is a member of Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Mr. Koszman is a retired English teacher. Mr. Koszman has been a councilor of Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation for 22 years, served three terms on the Provincial Competency Committee for the Federation and has served two terms on Bengough Town Council. He is also involved with many community organizations. Mr. Koszman's priority for Sun Country Regional Health Authority is the best possible care for all people within fiscal responsibilities. Jack McFarlaneJack McFarlane of Carnduff has been a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority since its inception, August 1, 2002. Mr. McFarlane is a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. He is currently employed at G.C.C.L. in Carnduff as Sales and Public Officer. G.C.C.L. is a large oilfield contractor serving southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Mr. McFarlane's has been the Mayor of the Town of Carnduff since 1997 and has also been an alderman from 1989 to 1996. From 1994 to 1996 he was a member of the former South East District Health Board. Vernon PalmerVernon Palmer of Coronach was appointed as a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority in November 2004. Mr. Palmer serves as a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. He is currently an Administrator for the Rural Municipality of Hart Butte No.11 as well as the Rural Municipality of Happy Valley No.10 and has served in this capacity for the past 29 years. This experience gives Mr. Palmer a broad understanding of the people in the area and their needs. His motivation for serving on the Board is his desire to ensure locally-provided health services. Mr. Palmer also served on the South Central Health District Board for two years. Coronach is a town of 800 citizens and a larger catchment area with many more young people than the surrounding communities. It is the host community to the SaskPower Polar River Power Station and Prairie Mines and Royalty Poplar River Mine. Darlene Standing ReadyDarlene Standing Ready of Carlyle is a Health Director for the White Bear First Nations. Mrs. Standing Ready has also done Community Health Representation for the White Bear Reserve and has worked as a teacher’s associate for the Board of Education in Regina. She enjoys coaching and helping with minor sports and volunteers help to various community agencies. Larry WardLarry Ward of Estevan is a member of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority since his appointment in February 2006. Mr. Ward is a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Mr. Ward worked for SaskTel in Estevan for 28 years and served 12 years as a member of Estevan City Council. In 1995 Mr. Ward was elected and served on the Government Caucus Local Government, Fiscal Policy and Education Committee. He has served on the Government Caucus Health, Social Policy and Justice Committee, and Agriculture, Transportation and Rural Issues Committee. In 1998, Mr. Ward was appointed Deputy Whip of the government Caucus. In his community, he has served as Director and President of the Estevan Curling Club and as a member and chairperson of the Estevan Parks and Recreation Board. |
