If you are a resident of another Canadian province attending school in Saskatchewan, your home province covers your health costs. You should continue to maintain coverage with your home province or territory.

If you are an international student temporarily resident in Saskatchewan to further your education you may be eligible for Saskatchewan Health coverage. To qualify, you must be in full-time attendance at an accredited educational institution; and provide a valid Study Permit issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada; and complete and return the Student Certification. If you attend school full time in another province or territory and plan to return to Saskatchewan to live upon completion of your studies, you remain covered by Saskatchewan.

If you attend school full time outside Canada and plan to return to Saskatchewan to live upon completion of your studies, you will qualify for limited out-of-country coverage.
These limitations are significant. The costs outside Canada are often much higher than in Saskatchewan. For this reason, we strongly recommend residents carry extra medical insurance when studying outside Canada.
