Saskatchewan! Healthy people. A healthy province.

STARS, a non-profit organization that provides rotary wing (helicopter) air medical transportation, is now available in southern Saskatchewan. STARS supports faster, more responsive emergency care for critically ill and injured patients.

Medical helicopter service is coordinated with Saskatchewan's existing ground and fixed wing air ambulance services. The service began April 30, 2012 in southern Saskatchewan (based in Regina) and will begin in the fall of 2012 in central and northern Saskatchewan (based in Saskatoon).

The province is investing $10.5 million in 2012-13 in STARS. The remainder of the cost of developing and operating the service will come from STARS fundraising and contributions from corporate donors.
