Deals with two complex issues: government risk and relationships with stakeholders, including health research organizations. Among many issues the branch handles are genetics, abortion, women's and francophone issues as they relate to health.

First Nations and Métis Relations Unit

Liaison with stakeholders and policy development in relation to First Nations and Métis health issues.

Health Emergency Management Unit

Coordination of emergency management preparedness and response by the Ministry and health regions. Communication with other jurisdications on health emergency management issue and situation response.

Health Information Policy and Legislation Unit

Coordination and support of Ministry legislative and regulatory matters.  Support for Ministry and health system privacy and information access efforts to meet the requirements of The Health Information Protection Act (HIPA) and The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Coordination of Ministry issues management in relation to regional health authorities (RHAs), including essential services. Management of appointments to RHA and Saskatchewan Cancer Agency boards.
