Branches Regional AccountabilityRegional Accountability Branch along with Regional Policy Branch are the two branches established within Saskatchewan Health to allow for the consolidation of those areas of the ministry dealing with the coordination of its governance and accountability relationship with Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA). The Branch is made up of three units: Accountability - This unit has primary responsibility for the accountability relationship with the Boards and CEOs and works with other Ministry branches with respect to monitoring and compliance issues and case management. Monitoring and Analysis - This unit supports the ministry's role by providing support for the planning cycle and accountability document. It also monitors RHA/SCA performance in relation to the accountability documents, in conjunction with various program branches, through management of the reporting and compilation of information related to the measurement of RHA performance against pre-established targets. RHA Planning and Financial Compliance - This unit is responsible for the planning, development and management of the annual RHA and SCA health plan and budget development processes, the establishment and monitoring of a provincial chart of accounts and ensuring financial and accounting compliance by these agencies. Overall, the branch communicates and facilitates an understanding of government priorities and policies, supports and assists regions in implementing initiatives to address government and regional priorities. Regional Accountability Branch monitors the progress of the regions in meeting provincial health system objectives and the expectations set out in the Accountability Document.
