The role of the Quality and Process Improvement Branch is to guide and support the transformation of the Ministry of Health and the broader health system that is needed to achieve excellence in customer service, continuous improvement in health outcomes and other results, at reduced cost.

Attainment of the annual performance targets established in the Strategic and Operational Directions document, as well as providing support to others in their efforts to achieve the targets is one of the roles of the QPI branch.

The branch develops policy and programs to support the delivery of quality and value to improve care for patients, residents and clients, while improving the efficiency of services.

The branch also serves in an advisory capacity to the Strategy and Performance Management Branch on issues related to health system planning.
