Professional Corporation Information

  • With a change to The Business Corporations Act of Saskatchewan, physicians practising in Sask. could incorporate in September, 2000 and dentists, chiropractors and optometrists could incorporate December, 2001.
  • Contact with your College or Association should be done very early in the overall process. Once your Professional Corporation (PC) has been registered with your appropriate College or Association, you may submit the necessary information to the Medical Services Branch (MSB), Saskatchewan Health.
  • In addition to a copy of the College or Association permit, MSB requires a MSB Professional Corporation form, a new Direct Payment Agreement with the PC and a Professional Corporation Application for Direct Deposit of Payment(s) form. These latter forms can be obtained by calling Frances Waterfield at (306) 787-3452 or by faxing her at (306) 798-1124.
  • In order to bill as a PC, all claims (except for claims requiring a paper report) for a doctor must be submitted by computer. If you have any questions about computerization, please call Dietmar Bartel at (306) 787-3473.
  • The MSB computer system has been modified to handle the submission, payment and return of both PC and individual claims or files. The Corporation Indicator field on the Header record of your automated claim submission indicates whether the file is for the individual doctor or the PC.
  • The same doctor and clinic number will be used whether claims are for the individual doctor or the PC.
  • Any doctor (including a locum or resident) can bill through the Professional Corporation of another doctor.

For additional inquiries on billing through a PC, please contact the inquiry line f at (306) 787-3452.
