Physical Therapy

Physical therapy services are available from the health regions. Physiotherapists are part of the health care team, which also includes occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, therapist assistants, and others.

Physiotherapy services are aimed at individuals of all ages, who have physical problems related to injury, disease, or disability. The goal of physical therapy is to improve mobility and independence.

Typically, services would include assessment, intervention, consultation, prevention and education, as well as health promotion services. Services may be provided in acute care, rehab, long term care as well as community settings.
