Bursaries and grants are available for health workers and professionals who will commit to work in Saskatchewan's publicly-funded health system.

Health Registration

Health Registration Health Registration registers new residents of the province for coverage and maintains the registry of all residents who are eligible for benefits.

The branch also issues a health services card to individuals once you are approved for benefits. The card is a valuable personal identification document and is required for presentation when you need health services.

Vital Statistics

  • administers and maintains a province-wide system for registering births, deaths, marriages, stillbirths, divorces, adoptions and changes of name that occur in Saskatchewan
  • issues certificates as legal proof of these events
  • publishes extensive statistical information for other agencies and the public
  • works closely with
    • local registrars, most of them municipal secretaries and town/city clerks who regularly report births and deaths
    • clergy and marriage commissioners who report weddings
    • courts who report divorces and adoptions
  • shares information with Statistics Canada for compiling national vital statistics.
