Parenting Parent Mentoring ProgramThe Parent Mentoring Program is a preventative early intervention community-based intensive and extensive home visiting program. The goals of the program are to improve pregnancy outcomes, enhance healthy childhood development, and improve parental skills and life choices. Parents are matched with mentors, volunteers within the community, who provide support, parenting suggestions and information, as well as assist families in accessing appropriate community services. Currently operating in 16 sites across the province, the Parent Mentoring Program is one of a number of services and supports in the continuum of early childhood care options that assist in meeting the needs of vulnerable families in Saskatchewan.
