Saskatchewan! Healthy people. A healthy province.

Nationally and internationally, there is much work going on in the area of health information systems. While health sectors' approaches to information technology and specific requirements may differ for each province, as provinces work towards similar goals there is much to be shared and learned from each other. eHealth Saskatchewan works in collaboration with other jurisdictions both informally and formally through membership in a number of organizations.

eHealth Saskatchewan works closely with Canada Health Infoway and other provinces on joint initiatives to reduce costs, learn from early implementation experiences with new technologies and ensure the ability to share information by establishing system interface standards.

As a member of the Western Health Information Collaborative (WHIC), eHealth Saskatchewan is also working with provinces and territories to leverage federal and provincial resources and to facilitate the development of connecting infrastructures. WHIC includes representatives from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon.

Through collaboration, provinces are able to learn from the work and experience of others, and to move more quickly and cost-effectively to proven solutions.
