Applications close February 24 for Saskatchewan MS patients interested in volunteering for an MS clinical trial in Albany, New York.

Report on Losses Tabled - Health System
The third-quarter report on losses of public money within Saskatchewan regional health authorities (health regions), the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and North Sask Laundry has been tabled with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

Saskatchewan Leads Nation in Growth of Registered Nurses
A report released by the Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) shows the RN workforce in Saskatchewan increased by 12.5 per cent from 2006 to 2010. The average age has also decreased, and the number of nurse practitioners increased 38.6 per cent.

Funding to Recruit, Retain Foreign-Trained Health Professionals
Health ministers Leona Aglukkaq (federal) and Don McMorris (Saskatchewan) announced federal funding to help internationally educated health professionals become licensed and enter the Saskatchewan health workforce.

 Jan. 12 MS Clinical Trial Applications Open To Saskatchewan Patients
Premier Brad Wall announced today that Dr. Gary Siskin of the Albany Medical Centre is in the final stages of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for the largest Liberation Therapy clinical trial of its type, and that Saskatchewan Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients can now apply to volunteer to participate in the trial.  More Info on MS Clinical Trial
