Allan Rivard, Chairperson

Allan Rivard of La Ronge is a former Area Director for the Northern Region 1 of the Metis Nation - Saskatchewan. He has chaired the Jim Brady Development Corporation and the Northern Development Board and is currently Secretary-Treasurer for the Keewatin Career Development Corporation. Allan was also a member of the former Mamawetan/Munito-Uskiy District Health Board and the Inter-provincial Association of Native Employment.

Mary Denechezhe, Vice Chairperson

Mary Denechezhe of Wollaston Lake is currently Health Director for the Hatchet Lake First Nation Health Program. She has been Vice-Chairperson of the Mamawetan Churchill River Health District and is very involved with her community. Some of her volunteer work includes attending a Men and Women Wellness Conference, Coordinating for the Hatchet Lake First Nation Health Program, and organizing a Chronic Disease Workshop. She has attended healing workshops, Healing Circles, Youth Conferences, and various other workshops.

Peter James Bear

Peter James Bear of Sandy Bay is a heavy equipment operator. His community involvement includes being an Alderman for the Northern Village of Sandy Bay, board member/Chairperson of the Mikisew Pre-School, President of the Metis Local #90, and board member of the Northcote Development Corporation. He is also a member of the local school board, Emergency Measures Organizer for Sandy Bay, and a Volunteer Fire Fighter (Past Fire Chief) for Sandy Bay.

Larry Beatty

Larry Beatty of Deschambault Lake is currently a Holistic Health Developer and also owns his own Taxi Business and Shuttle Service. He is a member of the Local Ossey Fisherman’s Co-op and was Chairperson of the local school committee. He was a board member for the Northlands board and was an Alderman for Deschambault Hamlet in the 1970s until the hamlet became a reserve in the 1990s. Larry has been involved in many organizations and associations in Deschambault Lake.

William Dumais

William Dumais of Southend has been a Councillor for the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation as well as an Economic Development Worker for his community. He was a member of the former Mamawetan Churchill River District Health Board. He has also been a Research and Development Representative for Saskatchewan Health, MLTC, Saskatoon Tribal Council, University of Saskatchewan, and the Northern Local Government. William also sat on the Southend Local School Committee and enjoys coaching minor hockey.

Charlene Mae Logan

Charlene Mae Logan of Flin Flon is currently a Domestic Engineer. She has also worked at the Winnipeg General Hospital Emergency Ward and in medical records at the Flin Flon General Hospital. She is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Flin Flon Volunteer Fire Department and was the Chairperson for Creighton Home Care Society at the time of amalgamation with the District Health Board. As a representative of the former Mamawetan Churchill River District Health Board, she was also a member of the Health Environment Strategy for Saskatchewan committee.

Charlene is the Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority representative on the North/SASK Laundry Board in Prince Albert. Recommended by the regional health authority, Ms. Logan is also a member of the Provincial Advisory Committee of Older Persons (PACOP). Since Flin Flon is a border city (Manitoba/Saskatchewan) and most of the health services come from Manitoba she is also a member of the Flin Flon District Health Council, the equivalent to the Community Advisory Networks organizations of Saskatchewan.

Albert Loke

Albert Loke of La Ronge is currently employed with Department of Highways in a contract position for Northern Economic Infrastructure Initiative. He is also a Business Manager/Partner for Power Timer Products Ltd. Albert has taken numerous professional development courses in leadership building and crisis management. His formal training includes a BA in Recreation/Leisure studies as well as training in management and administration.

Ida Ratt-Natomagan

Ida Ratt-Natomagan of Pinehouse Lake is currently a Social Worker. Her volunteer activities include Representative/Liaison for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band & Pinehouse off reserve people. She was also involved with a Social Services Working Group and part of an Appeals Committee for Saskatchewan Social Services. Ida’s community initiatives include assisting with a volunteer recognition night, a Welcome Back Barbecue, and a Lynda Flath Memorial Poker Rally.

Josie Searson

Josie Searson of La Ronge currently sits on the Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority Ethics and Research Committees. Prior to her retirement in 2005, Ms. Searson was with the Northern Lights School Division No. 113, as a teacher and an Aboriginal Education Consultant. These roles enhanced her knowledge and provided her with varied experiences and a development of the concept for lifelong learning.

Josie is proud of her Metis heritage and her Cree language, which she continues to utilize in various contexts, including visits with Elders and patients at the Health Center. Ms. Searson also sits on the DOREMI Board, a Prenatal Wellness Pilot Project in La Ronge.

Louise Wiens

Louise Wiens of La Ronge is a past chairperson of the Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority. She is currently a homemaker and a music teacher. She was appointed Chairperson of the former Mamawetan Churchill River District Health Board when it was formed in 1997. Louise has been active in community and church activities, including membership on or the chairing of the Community College Board, the local school board, the Home Care Board, and the La Ronge Hospital Board.

Ronald Woytowich

Ronald Woytowich of La Ronge is currently the Executive Director for Kikinahk Friendship Center. He is a member of the Canadian Aboriginal Financial Managers Association and currently sits on various other community boards and organizations, including Cable Ronge. He is the La Ronge representative to the Northern Uranium Mines Environmental Mentoring Group.
