Keewatin Yatthé Board Member BiographiesDavid Seright, ChairpersonDavid Seright of Buffalo Narrows is currently the Manager of J. Waite Fisheries Inc. His business experience includes operating his own company, Seright Service. His past community involvement includes member of the Buffalo Narrows Economic Board, Chairperson of St. Leo the Great Parish Council, Buffalo Narrows Town Council, Friendship Centre, Volunteer Fire Department, and Hall Fundraising Committees. He has also been a member of the Board of Education for the Northern Lights School Division #113 and has been a member on the Nortep Council. Duane Favel, Vice-ChairpersonDuane Favel of Ile a la Crosse received his Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and is the Director of Research for the Northwest Saskatchewan Metis Council. He is fluent in both Cree and English and has knowledge of cross-cultural issues. He is involved in community activities and was a member of the Aboriginal Advisory Board with Saskatchewan Arts where he developed guidelines to ensure funding was accessible to Aboriginal people through the Saskatchewan Arts Board. Gloria ApesisGloria Apesis of Patuanak is currently an English River First Nation Band Councillor. In the past she was employed as a Community Health Representative. Her duties included promoting health programs with a goal of achieving healthy individuals, healthy families and a healthy community. In 1997 she was elected to the Council of English River First Nation and was given the Health Portfolio for the last three terms. She has also gained knowledge in Health while working with the English River First Nation Health staff, E.R.F.N. Health Board, community members, and various other health related agencies. Arthur DaigneaultArthur Daigneault of Buffalo Narrows is a business owner, is fluent in both Cree and English and has knowledge of cross-cultural issues. He has been very involved in community activities and has been a member of the following boards: Buffalo Narrows Home Care, Metis Nation Local #62, Tourism Board in Buffalo Narrows, Kiyenaw Rehab Board, Buffalo Narrows Radio & TV Board, Buffalo Narrows Credit Union, Buffalo Narrows Minor Sports Board and the Block N-17 Trapper’s Board. Lester HermanLester Herman of La Loche is a home/school councillor. He has been a member of many boards, including Keewatin Yatthé Health District Board, St. Martin’s Hospital Board, and the La Loche Methy Construction Board. Lester has also been a councillor for the Northern Village of La Loche and a Volunteer, Coach and Coordinator for Team Saskatchewan in the North American Indigenous Games. John JanvierJohn Janvier of La Loche is a former Mayor of La Loche and a member of the former Keewatin Yatthé District Health Board. Stella LaliberteStella Laliberte of Beauval is a Youth Coordinator in Beauval under the Sipisishk Friendship Centre and in the past has been a Youth Worker for the Metis Addictions Council and the Alex Bishop Childcare Centre. Her volunteer work includes CJL Radio Station Board Member, Youth Groups, Ladies Healing Groups (facilitator), and Survivors Healing Circle (facilitator). Annette MontgrandAnnette Montgrand of La Loche is retired from her position of a probation officer. She has previously served on a number of community boards including legal aid, school board, Native Women’s Organization, Community Delopment Corporation and day care. She is a mother of 5 children, grandmother of 12 grandchildren and a great grandmother of 3 great granchildren. Dorah MontgrandeDorah Montgrande of Buffalo River First Nation is currently an Addictions Coordinator for Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) Health. She works with the nine First Nations in the area of addictions. In the past she has also been a Health Coordinator for the Buffalo River First Nation and a Wellness Advisor, MLTC Health. Dorah has helped to develop and implement various programs in Health, Social Development, and Education. She is a strong believer in individuals being accountable and responsible for their own health. Yvette-Marie MorinYvette-Marie Morin of Ile a la Crosse is currently employed with Northern Medical Services of the University of Saskatchewan and has been at the clinic for 30 years with Northern Health Services and Northern Medical Services. She has been on numerous committees such as minor hockey, recreation, and local fundraising groups. She has a variety of hobbies and crafts. Yvette-Marie was a school trustee for four terms and is in the lay service in her Catholic Church. Irene PedersenIrene Pedersen of Buffalo Narrows is a Victim Services Coordinator with the Buffalo Narrows Regional Victim Services. She has received certificates in disaster response, emergency preparedness, suicide intervention, crisis intervention and family violence. She has been involved with the Community Police Board, local school board, municipal council and currently acts as the Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) Coordinator for the area. Ms. Pedersen has a passion for community wellness, healthy living and involving youth in the process. She has competencies in organizational finances and is knowledgeable in regard to board policies and management policies and procedures. Tina L. RasmussenTina L. Rasmussen was born and raised in Green Lake and Sled Lake. She is the Administrator for the Northern Village of Green Lake. Tina is married to Jason and they have one daughter, Kayelyn. |
