The Health Information Solutions Centre (HISC) is the branch of Saskatchewan Health that provides information technology and management services, and solutions in support of health care delivery.

The key roles of the branch are:

  • to work as an information technology provider in close cooperation with the ministry, health regions and other health sector partners to ensure information and information technology are used most effectively to meet the health care needs of the Saskatchewan population by improving access, quality and safety of front-line patient care;
  • to lead initiatives associated with the advancement of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in Saskatchewan; and,
  • to improve overall efficiency and sustainability of the health sector by providing secure access to the information required to better plan, manage and deliver health care services.
