Health Facilities

Section 10 of The Regional Health Services Act allows the Minister to designate all, or part, of a facility owned by a regional health authority or a health care.

The Facility Designation Regulations include provisions that:

a) allow the minister to designate all or part of a facility owned by a regional health authority or a health care organization to one of the five categories: addiction treatment centres, health centres, hospitals (and the hospital subcategories: community and northern, district, regional, provincial, and rehabilitation hospitals), residential treatment centres, and special-care homes; and
b) describe the services to be provided by each category and sub-category of facility.

Subsection 13(1) The Facility Designation Regulations provides that the Minister shall publish in Part I of the Saskatchewan Gazette a list of all facilities or parts of facilities that have been designated, their titles, the categories or subcategories to which they have been designated, and their effective dates of designation.

The attached document(s) below include Minister’s Orders and designated health facilities by health region.
