More than 70 cents of every dollar the  Saskatchewan Government spends on health care goes to compensation, wages and benefits for health workers and professionals.

Through medical health officers and public health inspectors, Saskatchewan health regions investigate, monitor and address environmental health concerns. The purpose of these initiatives is to prevent injury and disease related to exposure to biological, physical and chemical hazards.

Protecting public health includes testing soil and related materials for potential impacts on health.
