Deputy Minister of Health

Dan Florizone, Deputy Minister of Health, is responsible for special initiatives such as the Saskatchewan Surgical initiative, as well as non-patient services crucial to the Ministry (quality and process improvement and communications).

These branches and this team report directly to the Deputy Minister:

The branch works to ensure that Saskatchewan residents have accurate, up-to-date information about health programs and services.

The branch guides and supports the transformation of the Ministry of Health and the broader health system needed to achieve excellence in customer service, continuous improvement in health outcomes and other results, at reduced cost.

Although health is a provincial jurisdiction, the federal government is responsible for First Nations health care. The government also funds provincial and territorial health initiatives and provides oversight in areas such as public health and national health care standards and access.
