Deputy Minister of Health

Max Hendricks, Deputy Minister of Health, is responsible for leading the Ministry of Health's efforts to improve care for patients and their families by ensuring the health system provides quality health care in a responsive, integrated, efficient, patient- and family-centered health care system.  The Ministry of Health is committed to a health system that provides Better Health, Better Care, and Better Value for Saskatchewan people.  Saskatchewan's health care transformation agenda puts the Patient First in all of its efforts to improve quality health care for our residents.

These branches and this team report directly to the Deputy Minister:

The branch works to ensure that Saskatchewan residents have accurate, up-to-date information about health programs and services.

Provides leadership to the health system in the areas of strategic policy development and planning as well as capital asset planning.

Although health is a provincial jurisdiction, the federal government is responsible for First Nations health care. The government also funds provincial and territorial health initiatives and provides oversight in areas such as public health and national health care standards and access.
