Cypress Board Member BiographiesTyler Bragg, ChairMr. Bragg attended Robertson College where he received a Diploma in Marketing and also attended the University of Saskatchewan, College of Commerce. He is presently a senior partner at Pinnacle Financial Services. Mr. Bragg has held other senior accounting positions with Protax Consultants, Inc. and Klassen & Partners CMA’s. His board experience includes being a director of the Institute of Certified Professional Accounts of Saskatchewan, vice-president of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, and a director of both the Swift Current Chamber of Commerce and the Swift Current Minor Football Association. He has served as chief financial officer for the Cypress Health Region and on several health related committees. His special interests include children, seniors and youth. Ronald Heeg, Vice-ChairpersonRonald Heeg of Swift Current, is currently serving as the Acting Chair of the Cypress Regional Health Authority. Mr. Heeg, a pharmacist, opened his pharmacy, Pharmasave (formerly Heeg's Plaza Drugs) in November of 1964. In 2000 he was honoured by receiving the Bowl of Hygea for Saskatchewan for Outstanding Community Service in Pharmacy. His community involvement includes chairperson of the Swift Current Chamber of Commerce Tourism and former member of Kinsmen Club and the Rotary Club. He served as President of the University of Saskatchewan Alumni, Swift Current Branch, Swift Current Wheatland Mall Merchants' Association, Swift Current Old-timers' Hockey Association and the Swift Current Shrine Club (1978). He served on the board of directors of the Wa Wa Shriners from 1990 to 1999 and in 1999 was elected to the office of Potentate (CEO) of the Wa Wa Shriners of Saskatchewan. Ron and his wife Jeanne have been married for 44 years and have three children. Elaine AndersonElaine received her Bachelor of Law from the University of Alberta and is an Associate Lawyer with Kanuka Thuringer LLP. She is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and is current president of the Southline Community Foundation. She and her husband, Lance, live on a farm in the Frontier area. They have three young children. She is a strong community supporter and enjoys numerous volunteer activities. In the past she was co-chairperson of the Climax and Area Community Advisory Committee and has been a member of the Southern Alberta Recreation Association and the Bow Island Recreation Board. Bruce DegBruce Deg, formerly of Vanguard, now a resident of Swift Current, is the owner/manager of M&M Meat Shops in Swift Current. Mr. Deg formerly owned and operated Patriot Bison at Vanguard, a mixed farming operation that consisted of bison ranching, cereal grain production, oil and pulse crop production as well as hay production. His volunteer activities include hockey coach, Legionnaire Triple A Hockey Club Board member, Kid Sport volunteer and numerous community groups. Mr. Deg’s many board experiences include chairperson of the former Rolling Hills Health District. Mr. Deg is married to Arlene and they have three children. Lois DonnellyLois Donnelly of Swift Current has been involved in their farming operating since 1973. Her board experience includes being a member of the Swift Current Public School Board, and the past chairperson of the Swift Current Comprehensive High School Board of Management. Her committee experience includes chairperson of Teen Wellness Committee, member of the Child Hunger Committee and the Shared Services Committee. Ms. Donnelly’s community activities include the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Swift Current Library Board and the Chinook Regional Library Board. Betty GoddardBetty Goddard of Cabri retired after 23 years in the Saskatchewan Credit Union system. She was previously employed as a bookkeeper and payroll manager for a car/garage dealership. She began her working career as a combined Lab/X-ray Technician. Her community involvement and volunteer activities include delivering ‘Meals on Wheels’, and transporting dialysis patients for their treatments. She was also a member of the board of the Southwest Credit Union Ltd. Her leisure activities include golfing, curling, bridge, community choir and enjoying time with the grandchildren. Jeannine SchmaltzJeannine Schmaltz of Prelate received her diploma in Nursing, and was a Public Health Nurse for over 35 years. She has several years experience as a board member serving on the boards of Leader Union Hospital and Western Senior Citizen’s Home. Presently, Jeannine is the Mayor of the Village of Prelate and participates in many volunteer activities in the community and surrounding area. Alma ThibaultAlma Thibault of Ponteix is a retired Registered Nurse and has been involved with her husband in a mixed farming operation in the Ponteix area. They have four children. She was a member of the former Rolling Hills District Health Board and served as the Vice-Chairperson. Ms. Thibault is a member of the CWL and is involved in many volunteer activities in her church and other charities. Louise WalkerLouise Walker of Swift Current received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary in 1974 and was a teacher in several communities of the province. She retired from teaching in 2005. Ms. Walker was appointed as a member of the Five Hills Regional Health Authority in August 2002. She resigned her position when she moved to the Cypress Health Region. During her time on the Five Hills Regional Health Authority, Ms. Walker co-chaired the Ethics Committee and was a member of the Policy Committee. She was also a board member of the former South Country District Health Board from 1996 to 2002. Ms. Walker is very involved in community activities. She is currently a member of the Cypress Hills Regional College Board and a community-based Food Securities Committee. Brian WhitesideBrian Whiteside of Swift Current is a retired educator and was the Principal of Irwin Middle School and Fairview Middle School. He received his diploma in Education and Educational Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. His past professional activities include the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (counselor and vice-counselor), member of the Swift Current School Division Mentorship Program, Chairman of the Swift Current School Division Administrative Council and Professional Development and a member of various other professional committees that contributed to education in the City of Swift Current. His past community activities include President of the Swift Current Indians Baseball Club, member of the Swift Current Kinsmen Club, president and member of Elmwood Golf and Country Club, member of the former Swift Current District Health Board, and President of the Swift Current Shrine Club. |
