Workshop to help parents, educators and community members plan for the midde and high school years and beyond for students with autism spectrum disorder.

Dr. Winnie Dunn presents a workshop for therapists and others who assess and treat sensory processing difficulties.

Workshop by Micheal Chapman on using the TEACCH model to help people with autism spectrum disorder prepare for the workforce.

Autism spectrum disorders: exploring the state of the science

This workshops is designed to help educators, parents and community members plan more effective learning environments for students on the autism spectrum who are entering in the middle and high school years.

Topics include:  unique challenges facing youth with ASD; guides to effective transition planning; academic programming strategies that work; teaching life skills; the "hidden curriculum"; palnning for sexuality and life changes; effective support teams; planning for life beyond school; connections between home and community, and recreational activities.

Sensory profile training

This course will explore strategies for designing effective interventions plans using sensory processing evidence available.

This workshop will be of primary interest to paediatric occupational therapists. Other therapists who assess and treat sensory processing difficulties will also want to attend this workshop. This may include physical therapists and speech language pathologists.

Preparing individuals with ASD for the world of work (TEACCH)

The TEACCH approach includes a focus on the person with autism and the development of a program around the person's skills, interests and needs. Its vocational assessment tool named the Transition Assessment Profile (TTAP) would be the focus of the proposed conference.

Recommended for parents, teachers, job coaches, employers and anyone involved in the employment sector.

An introduction to relationship development intervention in Saskatchewan

This two day seminar will introduce participants to the RDI method of autism intervention.

Day one will focus on description of autism and its core deficits, as it is understood by RDI, as well as the basics of RDI programming.

Day two will allow all participants to practice basic RDI techniques that will be immediately applicable in the home, school, or community.
