In the 2008 provincial budget, the Ministry of Health received approval for increased annual funding for autism spectrum disorders (ASD) services in Saskatchewan.

The Ministry enlisted a Provincial Autism Advisory Committee to gather information about existing services, identify gaps, and provide input into the development of a plan for accessible and equitable services and supports provincially.

The resulting Framework and Action Plan was announced in October 2008.  An additional $2.5 million was announced in the 2010-11 budget for enhanced services.
