Alcohol is by far the most common substance used by young adults and youth.

Binge drinking is common. Binge drinking is consuming 5 or more drinks (for men) and 4 or more drinks (for women) on one occasion.

Violence, alcohol poisoning, poor performance at school or work, unplanned or unwanted sexual experiences, sexually-transmitted infections and motor vehicle accidents are some of the risks of drinking too much.
