Saskatchewan Health supports the participation of regional health authorities (RHAs) and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency in undergoing the process of accreditation. Accreditation Canada, (formerly the Canadian Council on Health Services (CCHSA)) is a national organization that promotes excellence in the provision of health services and the efficient use of resources in health services organizations in Canada. It provides health services organizations with the opportunity for voluntary participation in an accreditation program based on national standards. Saskatchewan Health strongly encourages all RHAs to pursue and attain the standards set out by the Accreditation Canada.

The accreditation process offered by Accreditation Canada evaluates all aspects of health services delivery from a client-centred perspective, and allows RHAs to assess and compare their total organization against national quality standards so that they may achieve coordinated, responsive and appropriate programs
